Social Shifts in the 1960s
In the 1960s, many movements rose to prominence in America. These movements included the civil rights movement, the student movement, the anti-Vietnam War movement, the women’s movement, the gay rights movement, and the environmental movement. Each of these movements influenced government policy, as well as changing how American live today. However, initially a majority of Americans disapproved of each of these social changes.
